Staying Fit For The Holidays

It’s that time of the year and I want to make sure that you don’t gain any weight in the next few weeks. Did you know that most people gain anywhere from 7 to 12 pounds of weight during the holidays?

Also, did you know that McAllen Texas is the fattest city in America and we got no business trying to gain anymore weight this holiday season.   

Here are three things that you can do to make sure you make sure you don’t gain any weight this holiday season.

1st thing you want to do is Avoid Carbohydrates at Night that means rice bread pasta potatoes cokes anything sweet should be avoided at night.

I recommend you eat more protein and vegetables for dinner time.  Having that combination at night helps speed up your metabolism and your body can digest the food faster than if it had carbohydrates.  So, what does dinner look like one example is having a chicken salad.  Another example is having salmon and a vegetable like asparagus, I like asparagus.  IF you want something easy, try having a protein shake with Greens powder before bed. 

If you get hungry during the night try having fruit instead of something sweet or natural peanut butter to kill your cravings.

2nd thing you can start doing is Start Drinking More Water thought-out the day. Most people are overweight and most of you need to be drinking about 1 gallon of water a day.  If you want to calculate exactly how much water you need to drink. Divide your bodyweight by 2 and that is your daily water requirement in ounces.  For example, if you weight 200lbs, then you need 100oz of water daily.  You can probably get away from drinking sugar water like cokes, sprite, lemonade and juice.  I’ve seen people lose 10lbs a month just by drinking more water and or removing sugared beverages only.

3rd  Start Exercising. Find something that keeps you active and moving.  You don’t have to do anything fancy, but start by walking daily for 20min a day.  You spend more time on social media that 20min walking is nothing.   If you want the next best thing, join a gym and jump on the machines.  If you have never exercised before or don’t know how to use the equipment at the gym, Contact me.  I have programs for Novice and beginners and teach you exactly how to use the equipment.
